Questions

Noorani Qaida FAQs

What is the Noorani Qaida?

The Noorani Qaida is the classic first book for learning to read the Qur'an. It teaches the Arabic letters, their joined shapes, the vowels (zabar, zer, pesh), tanween, madd, sukun and shadda in 17 short lessons, so a beginner can read the Qur'an correctly.

At what age can my child start?

Most children can start the Qaida at around 4 years old with short daily lessons. Adults can start at any age — the adults' edition is written especially for them.

How long does it take to finish the Qaida?

With five 30-minute classes a week, children aged 6 and above usually finish in 5–7 months; younger children take a little longer. Our complete Noorani Qaida package is $180 in total.

What makes this Qaida different?

It keeps the lessons, order, words and page density of the Noorani Qaida (17 takhtis), adds the tajweed rules and teaching method of the Madani Qaida, and gives new children extra digital help: audio, short videos, pictures, Islamic learning cards and simple activities.

Is the final test compulsory?

No. The test at the end is optional — use it for revision or before starting Nazra. It is not needed the first time a young child learns the Qaida.

Is the Qaida PDF really free?

Yes. You can download, print and share it for personal and classroom use. Teachers are welcome to use the Digital Qaida in their own online classes.

Why is it important to learn with a teacher?

Arabic letters must be heard to be pronounced correctly — especially ع, ح, ق, ض and the heavy letters. A teacher listens to every letter and corrects mistakes before they become habits.
