Why memorise the Qur’an?

And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy to remember — so is there anyone who will remember?

📖 Qur'an 54:17

“The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”

📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 5027

“The one skilled in the Qur’an is with the noble, righteous angels; and the one who struggles with it, finding it hard, gets a double reward.”

📖 Sahih Muslim 798a

“It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: recite and rise, and recite beautifully as you did in the world.”

📖 Sunan Abi Dawud 1464 — hasan sahih (al-Albani)
The method of the hifz schools

Sabaq, sabqi and manzil

Every day has three parts. New lines are learnt, the recent lessons are made strong, and everything memorised before is kept alive.

1

Sabaq — the new lesson

A few new lines each day. The student first listens to the teacher, then reads the lines correctly many times — line by line, then joined together — until he can recite them without looking.

2

Sabqi — the recent lessons

The lessons of the last days (usually the current juz) are recited every day, so that the new memorisation becomes firm before moving on.

3

Manzil — the old revision

A fixed portion of everything memorised earlier is revised daily, going round all of it again and again — so nothing is forgotten.

“The companion of the Qur’an is like the owner of tied camels: if he keeps watch over them he keeps them, and if he lets them go they go away.”

📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 5031

“Keep revising the Qur’an, for it escapes faster than camels from their ropes.”

📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 5033

Golden rules

  • Listen first, then read: the new lines are heard from the teacher before the student memorises them.
  • Correct before fast: every mistake is fixed at once and the line is read again — for example five times — before moving on.
  • One printed mushaf: always the same edition (13-line or 15-line Indo-Pak), so the page itself is remembered too.
  • A little every day is better than a lot once a week — the same time, the same place.
  • Typical new lesson per day: 3–5 lines for ages 6–8, half a page to one page for ages 9–14, one page or more for teens and adults — the teacher sets it for each child.
Our online system

How hifz works online with us

1

Level test and free trial

We check the reading and tajweed first. Hifz starts when the child reads the Qur’an fluently from the mushaf.

2

One-to-one live class

60 minutes, 3 to 7 days a week (5 or more is best), at a time that suits your time zone. Order: manzil, then sabqi, then the new sabaq.

3

Homework by voice note

After practice at home the child sends a short recitation on the parents’ WhatsApp; the teacher replies with corrections.

4

Weekly report and monthly test

Parents get a short report every week (new lines, revision, mistakes, attendance). Each completed juz is tested by a second teacher.

5

Tracker, rewards and certificates

A digital hifz tracker shows every surah and juz; stars and a certificate celebrate each milestone.

What the teacher and the student need

The teacher

  • A qualified hafiz or hafizah with correct tajweed
  • Camera on, a good headset and a quiet room with a plain background
  • Stable internet and the same printed mushaf as the student
  • Writes the daily record: sabaq, sabqi, manzil and mistakes
  • Patient and kind — corrects without shaming
  • Contacts the family only through the academy’s official WhatsApp

The student

  • A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone (a phone works for short classes)
  • Headphones, so that every letter is heard clearly
  • The same printed mushaf as the teacher, kept only for hifz
  • A quiet place, wudu and good manners with the Qur’an
  • A fixed daily time, and 15–30 minutes of revision at home
  • For young children: a parent nearby during the class

Questions parents ask

Online hifz — FAQ

At what age can my child start hifz?

Usually from about 6 or 7, once the child reads the Qur’an fluently with tajweed. Younger children start with the Noorani Qaida and short surahs.

Can hifz really be done online?

Yes. The teacher hears every word one-to-one, follows the same mushaf page and corrects at once — the method is the same as in a madrasa, with daily revision at home.

Is there a female teacher for my daughter?

Yes — hafizah teachers teach girls on request, and female staff answer the family’s messages.

What if my child misses a class?

Tell us on WhatsApp before the class and we will arrange a make-up time. Revision should still be done at home that day.

How do I know my child is progressing?

Through the weekly report, the monthly juz test by a second teacher, and the hifz tracker you can open at any time.

How much does it cost?

See the pricing page for the hifz plans, or ask us on WhatsApp — the first trial class is free.
