Parents often ask which course their child should begin with. The answer depends on one simple question: can your child already read Arabic script?
Noorani Qaida: the foundation
Noorani Qaida is where reading begins. It teaches the shapes and sounds of the Arabic letters, how letters join together, the short and long vowels, and the very first rules of correct reading. It is built for complete beginners — usually young children, but also older students and adults who have never read Arabic before.
Nazra Quran: reading the Qur'an fluently
Nazra comes next. Once a student can read Arabic script reasonably well, Nazra focuses on reading the Qur'an itself — building fluency, accuracy and confidence page by page, while applying basic Tajweed along the way.
Which one should your child start with?
- Choose Noorani Qaida if your child is new to Arabic letters, or reads slowly and hesitantly letter by letter.
- Choose Nazra if your child can already read joined Arabic words with reasonable accuracy.
Skipping Qaida too early is one of the most common reasons children struggle later, so when in doubt, a short assessment is the best way to decide.
